Roooom Redecoration!

I plan to have my room redecorated this summer, although some people may see it as a stupid time to do it since I'm (hopefully...) going to be living at uni (results on thursday!) but I heard uni breaks are like.. 3 months long.

The plan is to make it very french chic :) I want to start working on sanding down the dressing table this weekend. We're going to paint it gold underneath, and cream over the top so that when the cream paint starts to wear off, it will show through the gold underneath! So excited.

Next thing I need is a venetian mirror and a stool :) I'm getting a smaller bed and getting more shelving so I can have a proper waldrobe. I'm very excited ♥

I don't really have much beauty products to talk about, since i'm on a one week ban cause of the eye surgery :( But rest assured I will be buying more. I've got my eye on a Sleek Contour Palette, last time I went to find it, there was only one light one left, and the packaging was a bit battered. I also want to try and get some more Max Factor lippies since I'm in love with the one I have and they're currently 3 for 2 :D

On other news, I've recently got into playing the sims 2 again. Anyone else still play it? :P Just wondering!

Have a good day,
Love,
Emz ♥

Storage & Oxford Street Haul

Hiii,

Firstly, I'm excited to talk to you about my new storage boxes! If you read my last post about winning my dressing table on ebay, I'm sure most of you will know I'm having a bit of a revamp of my room! yaaaay ♥

yay, I thought this was very delicate and fitting with all that I want my room to be :)
Next, it's onto the storage boxes I bought.
I had a massive clear out and found that it would be quite nice to keep things from my past in a "memory box" and I knew that TK maxx would be the perfect place to find some of these wonderfully recreated vintage boxes. (obviously they aren't real vintage if they are in tk maxx :P) it was £9.99.
I also found this beauty reduced to £2! How on earth could I leave this in the shop? It's so cutee :)
I made it into a bead box (I discovered I had a lot of beads!) :

Here is the bigger version, reduced to £4. I don't know what I'm going to use this one for right now, but I'm sure that I will find a use for it one day (soon!)

I also wanted a box for everyday bits and bobs such as my daily moisturiser, hairbrush, ipod, camera. Just a general place to store general items really! I thought this case would be really pretty and feels lovely. Cost me £12.99 which I think it really good because it feels like a lovely material (you might be able to see closer if you click the picture below) Also the name is signed "Emily" which is closeeee (just not quite) my name :P

Oxford Street Haul
I don't know if I mentioned or not, but I went for laser eye surgery in West London right near to Oxford street. Although we couldn't shop on the day of surgery (which went very well), we had to get a train back for a check the next day so we decided to shop then. I picked up a few bits in Zara, DP and Primark:

Shop: Zara
Price: £25.99
I love this so much! It reminds me of the clothes women used to wear in WW2? I think. I adoree it! And it's a really trendy colour this season ♥

Shop: Dorothy Perkins
Price: £5 reduced to £1
I really love this! it's very vintage style with the bow and the colours. I just love it. And it's such a bargain at £1, you'd pay that if not a little bit more in Primark :P

Shop: Primark
Price: £5 reduced to £2

Shop: Primark
Price: £9
I love this skirt! It's the second skirt I own and it's so girly and feminine, I just love it! You can get some really impressive stuff in primark right now :)

Shop: Primark
Price: £6
I loved this from the moment I saw it which is really strange considering it is quilted. I usually feel that most quilted bags are really chavvy, as that's what you see everyone in at the local town, however, I think this appeals to me because it's not fully quilted, it's got a cute tied bow at the side and adjustable gold chain - Long to go over your body, or doubled up to go over one shoulder. I also like that on the inside there are 2 sections, because I always panic about where my purse is, I also like that it's small so I don't feel tempted to pack it out too much! I also really like the pink colour, it's not in your face like the black plastic ones i've seen and such :)

Shop: Primark
Price: £2
I saw this on the wall and loved the colour. It's in shade Mocha-Tallic which is gorgeous. You can see it on my nails above however you will notice that it looks very thin and a little streaky but after a few coats it looks better. I've always found that these nail polishes have been better than other brands, they dry quick and look fab, even beats No 7 polishes which are more than triple the price.

Shop: Primark
Price: £3
It's just a plain nude belt, there's not really much to say about it other than it's nice and will compliment some outfits :P

Here's a little outfit that I put together with my new purchases <3

pearl necklace (not new): Primark, £2?
Top: Zara, £5.99 - Was £15.99, and previously £19.99 so bargain!
cardigan (as above): Zara, £25.99
Bracelets: Primark, £2 - I have a matching necklace to this too :)
Skirt (as above): Primark, £9

I love that even a mostly Primark Put together outfit can look really classy. Do you agree?

I hope you're all doing well
Love,
Emz ♥

congrats me!

soo, I want to redecorate my room so it's all shabby chic and I found a dressing table on ebay that my mum said we could repaint white or cream if it was cheaper than buying a white one itself. Well, this one looked better anyway, it had a lot of detail around the legs and such. happy happy! So I'm now the proud owner of this beauty:

(Picture taken from the ebay listing)

I'm not keeping the mirror, I want to get one of those very decorative venetian ones. Soo pretty! I paid £84 but I had a 10% off ebay voucher so actually I paid £75.60! I think that's quite a bargain! I'm so excited to make it all beautiful and I'll definately take another pic when it's done

Another Haul and What Brand is your wardrobe?

Hiyaa, I want to show you guys some more bits and pieces that I got. Also I wanted to see what brands my wardrobe is made of, I thought it would be fun. If you want to do a post like this, link me to your blog so I can read it. It would be interesting to see what brands people's wardrobes are made out of :)

First off, The Haul.
New Look are having another big sale. There wasn't really much there that I liked, but I did try to look. It was close to closing time though, so I was a bit rushed. Anyway, I did manage to pick up a top much like the cropped one that I've got (left, £6)

New Look
3/4 sleeve top - £7 reduced to £2
I was really shocked, I actually went up to the till and asked the girl, is this actually £2? She said yes and I was like "I'll have that then!!"

TK Maxx
Ashwood Leather Purse - RRP: £32.50, TM price: £9.99
This is sooo gorgeously vintage! It has the bow, and the rustic design. I've been looking for a new purse that looks great and TK Maxx had the best choices, I saw a few that I liked but my mum picked this one up and I knew it was the one for me :)

I'm sure most of you know about the Instyle offer where you buy their magazine and get a free cheek and lip stain from the body shop. There is two colour choices, #1 Rose Pink or the one I chose below, #2 Bronze Glimmer. The magazine itself costs £3.60 but a lipstain retails in TBS for £9. This means you could have both of them for £7.20 which is £1.80 less than if you bought one lipstain from them! TBS are also doing an offer where you buy 2 makeup items and get the stain for free.

I have put this on my lips, but the colour is VERY golden and I don't think it is very suitable as a lip colour because of all the gold flecks in it. However, this is just my opinion and it would look nice if you were going for a very bold and dramatic look. Although if you use it as a cheek stain, it gives a very subtle glow and you can hardly see the flecks which, In my opinion, is good. I think I will buy another instyle mag to get the rose pink one, as I may prefer this more, and I love the idea of something staining your lips so you have long-lasting colour :)

-Note: I bought all of these items with my own money-

Next, I want to do a little count of all the different brands in my wardrobe. So here goes...
TK Maxx - 3
Miss Selfridge - 3
Primark - 18
New Look - 8
ASOS - 2
Zara - 4
Next - 4
Topshop - 1
Republic - 1
Warehouse - 1
Stradivarius - 1
M&S - 1
River Island - 1

I have a mostly primark wardrobe lol. Here's a picture. Just for fun :)

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara Review + Free Gift

I bought this the other day with my other bits and pieces, but I wanted to talk about it seperately.

I've already got the lash extension effect mascara from Max Factor and really wanted to try out their false lash effect one. While the lash extension effect mascara is good for making your eyelashes look longer, it's more of a natural look, whereas I wanted something dramatic - and Max factor did not disappoint!

Firstly, There is currently an offer on where if you spend £15 on MF cosmetics in Boots, you get a free gift bag with things worth £25 in it. However, there is also a 3 for 2 offer on MF makeup in Superdrug so I guess you'll have to decide what you want more. So anyway, I bought my lash extension effect mascara and a lipliner so I could get my free gift:

On the Right are the false lash effect and my lipliner. Everything else is with the free gift although I forgot to put my lippy in the picture. You get shade 510 - English rose and this is a picture of me wearing it:

I really like this colour :) And it's full sized aswell (and even if it isn't, you still get a lot in it... I have similar full sized lipsticks...) So I think that it was well worth spending £15 on the mascara I wanted and an extra lipliner, just to get this beauty! It also comes with a 5(ish)ml masterpiece mascara which I haven't tried yet among other things.

**note, the brushes on the false lash effect & masterpiece were awfully similar, masterpiece was £1 cheaper but if you look at the mls... Masterpiece had something like 6.3m whereas false has 13.1ml**

I've tried to do a before and after pic of the mascara, but they are blurry, but I think you can still tell the difference. Please note that the before picture may have slight remains on from when i was wearing the same mascara last night, I got the waterproof one - and boy was it waterproof! I couldn't even get this off with soap but I wasn't really bothered about leaving it on anyway. I woke up this morning and my mum said to me "Wow Emma, you don't even have panda eyes" and the mascara had totally stayed where it was meant to be!
Anyway...
Before:

After:

Just a random piece to end...

I dropped my mascara on the floor and it made this pattern on the floor. All I can say is that there is a LOT of mascara on the brush! (not complaining at all, I love the mascara)

Finally, I just want to say that I have not been paid to do this review and the product was bought with my own money. I hold no bias over this product and anything I say is in my opinion :)

Emz ♥

Goodies Haul & Birthday Jewellery

Rightt, this again, I'm feeling is going to be quite a long post as I have a lot to show you guys!

First off I'll start with the birthday jewellery.
So as I explained in my previous post, my mum bought me a bracelet, necklace and ring for my 18th. I didn't have pictures last time so here they are now.
Fossil Bracelet:

Fossil Necklace:

White Gold and Diamond Ring from Warren James:

It's not strictly birthday jewellery *from Mum*, but I got it as a birthday treat
White Gold & Cubic Zirconia earrings:

Haul
I went shopping the other day, and picked up a few things. I love the summer sales, you can get such lovely stuff at such bargain prices!

Primark
Gold Bow Ring - £2
I love this, it's so cute! but it's still too big in size "S" and I don't think Primark do XS? If anyone knows if they do or not, comment on this post and let me know please :)

Miss Selfridge

Top - £22 reduced to £10

Bike necklace - £7.50 reduced to £3.75

Fossil

Mother of pearl & Cubic Zirconia Stainless Steel charm - £18

We asked the boy in the shop how much it was and he read it and said £8 but then when we got to the till it scanned in as £18 and I was like oh =[ but it's so nice, I wanted it anyway :)

The Body Shop

Baked-to-last bronzer in Shade 2, Warm Glow - £14

I wouldn't normally buy this because it's £14 but I had a free £5 to spend on my membership card in my birthday month, and I also had a £5 gift voucher that a friend gave me for my birthday so I only ended up paying £4 for this :)

Free Jewellery Box
I was complaining that I had nowhere to put my jewellery when my mum suggested that I have her one. It's really nice too! Although it's a little small but it does the job for some of my jewellery so that makes me happy :) Here are some pics:

Room Organisation
Today, I spent the whole day clearing out junk and generally reorganising my room. This is what the shelves ended up looking like. I love those little drawers. I got them for a pound each in poundland. In the picture below, the two highest sets are actually two boxes stacked on top of each other as you probably guessed cause there's a little one down near the bottom :P

Emz ♥
