Contour Brush

Rightt, so I want to buy Sleek's Contouring kit but I need an angled brush to apply it with. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what brand I should go for, that's decent quality but affordable? I really don't want to be spending like.. £20 on one brush so I guess MAC is out of the question. It would also be easier if I could get it from Boots or Superdrug but don't worry if what you're thinking of isn't sold here, as long as I can order it online :)

Once I've decided what brush I want, I will go and purchase the two and let you know how I get on, maybe do a photo with me wearing it and a little review or something.

Also, I will be posting a little Face/outfit of the day thing, because my berets arrived today, although i think I will only be keeping the beaded one because I don't like the way the other two look on me. It will probably be towards the end of the week because I have my last A level exam on Wednesday and my skin is looking HORRIBLE at the moment.

I'm really considering buying one of those zeno spot zapping machines that administers low leveled heat, I'm always struggling to get clear skin, even if I haven't worn makeup in days! I hate it.

Hope you're all having a great time out in the sun, personally it's a bit hot for me, although I am enjoying trying to tan!

Bye for now

Emz ♥

OOTD

It's a glorious sunny day people! And I have hayfever :( Badtimes. I thought I'd share with you all, my Outfit for today.

Yeah, I just wanted to wear something light since it's so hott! And I actually put an all Primark outfit together by accident! Although my mum gave me the top so the top a really old primark top, I don't think it looks like primark tbh :P And neither do the jean shorts. They are really nice and look more Miss Selfridge than Primark! I think the bracelets are quite old too. My mum gave me her set so I've put two sets together now, and that's how I wear them, because this season is all about layering up and clutter and stuff so yeah. I think I saw Gok put loads of bracelets on one of his models....

Also, carrying on from my previous post, I managed to find a beaded beret on the new look website for like, 5 minutes, I quickly ordered it along with a normal black and cream one. I checked back less than 1 hour later and they were out of stock again! They must sell out really fast or something... :/

Only 23 days until I'm 18, and only 10 until I fly off to Malta! and anddd,, only 4 days until I've finished my exams! wooowie ;D

Hope you're all having loads of fun on this sunny day!

*cry cry*

Right so, I wanted to buy this epic beret from New Look a couple of weeks ago, and I was going to leave it to see if I could find it instore the next day. No such luck... and then I went to purchase it online but it's gone :o

I've checked ebay, i don't know where else would have one.

Does anyone know where i can get this from? or have one that I could buy from you...  :) thankss.

Sunbathing

Yep Yep. So today has been BOILING as I'm sure most of you know.

I just thought I'd do a little list of 5 essential things for me when I sunbathe which is inspired from reading Nicola's blog post about summer essentials

1. SPF 15 suncream
While I don't want to get cancer, I also want to tan, and factor 15 isn't too bad, well.. protects your skin 15 times more than if you wern't wearing it... My mum however, used to use sunbeds a lot and for our holiday in Malta has bought "tanning oil" with SPF 2. Great one mum! not :P

2. Water
I absolutely cannot live without water when I sunbathe. I just get suffocated by the heat. So we always buy a paddling pool to cool down in, while still getting a tan, also, the light reflecting off of the water makes you tan better ;) We've only just bought a paddling pool today for this summer, so until now i've had to use a water spray what we bought in Orlando two years ago.

3. Swimwear/Bikini
I love to wear as little as possible to avoid annoying/weird tan lines. I personally also sunbathe without the straps on my bikini, because I don't want strap lines.

4. Headband
When I sunbathe I want to keep the hair out of my face and also I have a thick headband which covers my scalp so I don't burn my head and get sunstroke. Also this way I won't burn my hair either.

5. My Garden
I really dislike sunbathing (in basically underwear) infront of other people. So I really like being in my garden where nobody can see me. Although I don't really mind on holiday by the pool because nobody really cares there. lol.

So yeah, what are your 5 must-have things when you're out in the sun/sunbathing?

Hope you're doing well,
Love,
Emz ♥

MUA Nail Polish

Sooo, some of you might recall that I posted this in my recent Haul, it's the dark blue nail varnish by MUA. It looks GORGEOUS in the bottle and I couldn't wait to get this sexy colour on my nails! However, I was somewhat disappointed with what it looked like :(

They just look like black nails... although the result is much better with flash as seen below, but unfortunately life cannot be lived under a constant flash illuminating light :(
Ignore the shabbyness of the painting, i had already decided to hate this because it looked black >.>

I decided to redo my french maincure look and quite liked how it turned out. It's not perfect by any means, I guess I'll just have to practice, practice, Practice!!
Products Used:
No 7 Stay Perfect Nail colour in French Pink
Nailene white tip pen
Nailene topcoat included in with the pen

So I'm hoping I'll be good enough to have a gorgeous french manicure for prom, or if not, the vietnamese girls can do it for £3 :P lol

Good'day everyone ;D

Birthday Dress!

Yaaay, it arrived today. I ordered it on Thursday for the free delivery and it said it would be here on Thursday but it arrived early :) I love it, it's beautiful...
Excuse the creases, I was so excited I wanted to try it on straight away. It fits perfectly and will be totally amazing for my party. Just need to find some dazzling jewellery now. Anyone think I need to find a black belt with a bit of detail around the middle where the black strip is? I just get the feeling that it's a little bit bare at the moment. I was also going to wear heels but since it's in my house, I don't really see the point!

Life is looking good at the moment. One exam left on the 30th, Malta on 6th July to 13th, Prom on 14th July, 18th birthday on 19th July! Soo happy =]

Here's a picture of me and my brother, we took the picture so that we could put it in a photo frame for dad on fathers day but shame he closed his eyes!
haha.

Hope you're all doing alright :) Let me know what you think of the dress :)

Life Update, Nailene pen review + Hair & Eyebrows....

Right. I have an exam at 9am. I feel like I hardly know anything. This exam means sooo much to me :/ aah. Explosion much. Anyways.

I'm so looking forward to it being 11:30am. I'll go look around my local town for a bit of relaxation and then get the bus home to sleep for a million hours!

Also, following my previous blog post about my nailene french tip pen... The packaging is actually lethal! I have this plastic cut on my finger which is really painful from where I tried to open the packet... Anyway, it's really easy to apply (surprisingly easy) and I don't know if it's just me using it wrong or something but, I noticed little cracks starting to appear in the white and also seems to chip quite easily. Mum thinks I just need a little more practice so I'll let you know :) I don't have a picture right now.. I've been quite busy lately. With this exam and then I have to sort out Student Finance since the deadline is 25th. Eeek.

On a sidenote. Today I booked to have my eyebrows threaded on July 5th (if anyone doesn't know.. it's like a piece of cotton which pulls out stray hairs) They do it in debenhams for £18 I think, and certainly my local superdrug does it for £5 but I go to this professional indian lady's house and she does it for £4 and she's really gentle. The only thing is that I get a rash of spots around my eyebrows everytime I have this done, because my skin is so sensitive so I always get all blotchy. I definately recommend it if you haven't tried it though, the results are lovely and it lasts for 4ish weeks! I'll probably end up posting a picture of my newly-shaped eyebrows.

Also booked a haircut for the day I go on holiday since I'm leaving at night. The woman who I want to do my hair is not available on the day of my prom which is disappointing because I wanted them to properly do the curls and stuff but yeah, can't be helped I guess!

Malta is 14 days away. Yay ♥

Hope you're all doing well :)
Love,
Emz ♥

Epic Panic

Panic, Panic, Panic....

I'm very worried.
I have an exam tomorrow (Tuesday, 9am) and I have so much to learn, everytime I look at the book I just go "eww..." and leave it. Now I have ONE day to learn everything I need for an exam. There's not even chances for retakes! This is it. I hate myself, why can't I take this more seriously... I always do this. -rant at self...-

and also...
The Ryanair flights we booked to Malta... well I made a mistake. Everyone knows that you're supposed to be really careful because they charge you for every slip up... I'd been looking at places for the cheapest flights all day, and I found these really cheap ones so I booked them but I put my mum's name as "Maggi" <- yes, that's how she spells it, and what everyone knows her as, instead of the name on her passport which is "Margaret".

Here's the worst part...
A name change is ONE HUNDRED POUNDS and the flight only cost SIXTY POUNDS. Where is the logic in that?! I'll have to ring them later -really do not want to.. I might get emotional and come off the phone in tears...- and see if they will give me a change of name (clearly not for another person, just a variation of the name of the same person if that makes ANY sense at all!) and if not, I'll just buy another seat on the plane and forget about that one. since buying a new seat will be £30 - £40 cheaper than a name change on the current ticket... I'm really gutted though, that's still a needless extra £60 - £70 that would not be demanded had I actually just thought for one moment and put the proper name.

UPDATE: The guy I spoke to is really nice, and I asked him if he would charge and he said he could do it for free! I said "thank you very muchh!!" and then cried with tears of happiness and rung my mum straight away :)

Have any of you had any experiences with Ryanair? Good or bad? Let me know :)

Sorry for the massive rant post people, I do hope you're having a better week than moi!
Love,
Emz ♥

Sleek Sunset Swatches and OOTD Kinda?! lol

Yep, so quickly I just wanted to do a little swatches photo of my lovely sunset palette and a look I created with it

The swatches...
as i'm sure you can see, most of the colours (except black in the top left) are really glittery! I really love this pallete and I can assure you that there is a difference in the red-ish coloured ones albiet quite a small difference. I just want to point out how lovely the orange is (top, 4 in) beautiful! and also i've been wanting to find a red coloured eyeshadow.

 Sunset Look...

So here's a little "sunset" look that I've done for myself:

OOTD-ish...
Okay this is sorta a Outfit Of The Day, but it's a trial look, because I've just bought the new boots in the picture and wanted to see what it would look like with the shorts I had bought so I took a pic.
(Picture can be clicked for the full image)
Here's my OOTD and where the stuff is from:
Grey Vest - New Look
Shirt - TK Maxx
Denim Shorts - Primark
Boots - Chockers
Bracelets - Primark

My new boots:
I haven't bothered to take a proper picture of them, but this is the picture from the chockers website:
Very military style! I adore these. They were £39.99. I just adoreee the hell out of these!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,
Love,
Emz ♥

Makeup & Clothes Haul

Haul
I went to my local town to return a pair of £10 primark shoes which didn't fit me right, and ended up buying a lot more than I bargained for! So let's get started.

~ Makeup ~

Store: Superdrug
Product: Sleek palettes - Top: Sunset   Bottom: Storm
Price: £5.99 each
I saw the storm palette swatched on someone's Blog *sorry I can't remember who!* and I was reallly impressed with the pigmentation I just had to buy it, but I couldn't choose between the two so I got both!! lol
Store: Superdrug
Product: MUA Nail Varnish. Clear (Shade 17) and Glittery Blue (Shade 12)
Price: £1 each
I needed a topcoat just for any nail varnish and so just got the cheap £1 one and this gorgeous dark blue colour! I really like it. I'll probably do a Nails of the Day photo with this on...
Store: Boots
Product: Barry M Nail Paint - Left, Mushroom Right, Blueberry
Price: Special offer, 2 for £5
Been wanting to try Barry M nail varnishes and these are my first two. I will again probably use these in a NOTD sometime although I'm sure most of you know what it looks like...
Store: Boots
Product: Nailene French Tip Pen with Top coat
Price: £4.99
I have this thing about wanting to do french nails and my nails are always long so it's perfect! I will definately make a post on how I get on with this!
Store: Superdrug
Product: Vaseline "Rosy Lips"
Price: £1.60 something, does it really matter? lol :P
I've seen people talk about how great this is and I admit, I want to jump on the bandwagon! so shoot me!

~ Primark Buys ~

Price: £2.50
Lovely wood necklace to team with some outfits. Saw similar stuff in New look, but this is a fraction of the price! I love primark jewellery!
Price: £2.00
Got to stock up for summer ey? Especially cause we booked flights to Malta last night, not for the 3rd though, for the 6th, cause my mum remembered she had her northern friend staying the weekend on the 3rd.
Price: £2.50 (Nighttime Shorts)
Don't want to be wearing trouser PJs as the weather gets really hot so yep, just basic stuff really.
Price: £1.30
I've seen people talk about this but I've never been able to find one in my local primark! Fantastic! Day after we book flights to Malta, I find this local, it's just destined for me to be out in the sun! I love the idea of this.
 Price: £7.00
Again, nice shorts for holiday! Might not wear it with this belt... although it's not that bad. It would look lovely with that Military top I got in my first haul.

~ Other Stores ~

Sarong
Store: Poundland
Price: Err, £1.00 :P
I don't own a Sarong and it's perfect for my holiday in Malta. And it's really nice, and a total bargain for £1!
Camera Case with Clip
Store: Poundland
Price: £1.00? lol
Again, thinking of my holiday, I'm gonna need to store my camera somewhere as I lost the case I bought in Florida... in Florida... lmao!

Store: TK Maxx
Price: £16.99
This is my favourite top/dress thing ever!!!! It's so soft, and it's just generally gorgeous. These pictures do not give it justice. In the first pic, the one on the left is the front with the jewels in the zebra, and on the back (right picture) there is another zebra (without jewels). I can't believe how gorgeous this is! And for only £17. I liked a dress in primark but said "no" to myself because I don't want to pay £15 if everyone else is going to have the same thing, but nobody else is going to have this! aaah. I'll probably wear it with leggings, full length or up to my knees or something. I'm really happy with this purchase. I just fell in love with it when I saw it.

Hope you like my purchases and you've all had a fab week.
Love,
Emz ♥

Birthday Dress and HOLIDAY?!

I've been revising a lot this week for my Business (Strategic Management) exam on Tuesday so I've not really been making posts here sorryyy.

~...The Dress... ~
I need a dress for my 18th. I'm just having it in my house, but my living room is HUGE so that will be fine for 30-40 people. But I still need an absolute stunning dress for my party! I don't really want to spend over £70 on it though. Here are some ideas I've got (Pictures taken from the website)
Dress 1: Asos, £38 Dress 2: Asos, £35 Dress 3: Next, £32 Dress 4: Next, £50 Dress 5, Next, £58

The dresses which really stand out to me are 2 and 5. Moreso, 2.
What do you guys think? :)

~ Holiday! ~
Yep, Last night, my mum decided that she needs to get away from all the stresses in her life.. in the form of a holiday. We found flights to Malta for £80 each and a 4* villa for £234 for the week, which is quite cheap too. Here's some pictures:

If we go, it will be for one week, on Saturday 3rd July - Saturday 10th July. We've enquired about the place, now we just need to hear back from the owner. I'm so excited. This means tan before prom and birthday!! yayyy.

Sunday Update & Makeup Look

~ Sunday ~

On Sunday, my dad gave us the option to see a film or go bowling. This is our little treat since we only see him every other weekend. We checked what films were on but none of them really caught my eye so we decided on bowling. Firstly, when I asked for my shoe size (5) they told me there was none left so he asked if I wanted a 4 or 6. Well obviously I wasn't going to squish my feet into a 4! So I reluctantly picked the size 6. Also the balls were really slippery and I actually dropped the ball backwards towards the seating area which was scary o_o anyways, we played 3 games... I lost all three of them EVEN after getting a strike AND half strike on my last go and scoring 125, I was beaten by one by my brother :( And then by the 3rd game I was so boiling, I just got really rubbish...

Since I was in the local town, I seized the opportunity to pick up the two remaining dazzle dusts that I wanted. I told my dad that he could either pick one up for me or we could go along to the other superdrug which was a little walk away. He agreed to "pay" for mine with the coupon with my brother laughing and saying "that's probably the gayest thing you've ever done!!" while the cashier person just laughed :) Anyway, I picked up shade 72 Emerald (see picture) Which I'm not very impressed with, there seems to be a lot of pigment missing and it wasn't full to the top, I'd really like to complain to them, does anyone know how I would contact them? Anyways, I also got shade 24 (Old Gold) but forgot to take a picture.

Left: brand new Emerald that has quite a lot missing? compared with Right: Brand new Teal

~ Makeup Look ~

I wasn't very impressed with the way I did this, I didn't really use the right brushes and my eyes had been sore from hayfever and where they'd been itchy and I rubbed them so I apologize for that. Anyways, here are a few pictures:

So yeah. What I used:
1. Collection 2000 16 hour Ultimate Perfection Concealer (just as a base..)
2. Barry M Fine Glitter Dust in No. 4 - Silver all over the lid
3. Barry M Dazzle Dust in No. 44 - Copper
4. Barry M Dazzle Dust in No. 14 - Kharki
5. Barry M Dazzle Dust in No. 24 - Old Gold
6. Benefit BADgal eyeliner along top and bottom lash line
7. Rimmel Kohl Pencil in Jungle Green along lower lash line.
8. Maybelline new Stilletto mascara? Borrowed from my mum but didn't like it, used Max Factor lash extension effect over it but as you can see, still looks a mess :/

Hope you guys are all having fun :)
Love,
Emz ♥

Job Suggestion? MAC Makeup?...

I was laying on the sofa with my mum saying I don't really know what I'm gonna do with my life... She reckons I should do the Business Management Course and train to be a makeup artist! She's picked up on my obsession with makeup, and she's always telling me "Emma! You don't need any more makeup, the stuff you have will have gone out of date by then!" Pssh, who cares! I want the best stuff :P

She thinks after uni, I could set up my own business specialising in stuff like Wedding Makeup or nights out because she thinks people would pay for that. Especially if you set up in a wealthy area although of course I'd have to do my market research first!

It's a possibility, I'm not keen to work with people though, I've never had a job, but I can imagine that some people can be really unpleasant to work with and it's a lot of pressure, they might not like what I've done!

I still think I'll try to be a property developer, I see much more profit and you don't have to work directly, providing a service for someone.

On the topic of makeup...

I've yet to buy any Mac products and I'm beginning to feel left out! What do you think my first Mac product should be? I saw someone on youtube using a Sharkskin shadestick but apparently that has been discontined.
-note: I do not want to buy any foundations/concealers from them :)

Hope everyone is doing okay,
Love,
Emz ♥

Exam Update

So yeah, I just wanted to let you guys know that I sat my OCR F293 Marketing paper today. I don't really know how I feel about the exam, there were some weird questions but I don't think anything I've written is wrong... Loads of people said it was really hard but I don't think it was that bad... I guess we will see come August.

Coming Soon...
I'm hoping to do an eyeshadow look with my Barry M dazzle dusts. I think I will do a Browny/Coppery/Kharki colour but we will see! It's just when I get round to it really. Time to start revision for my next exam on 22nd June...

Hope you're all doing well.

Emz ♥

FOTD and Mag Freebies!

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing okay. Today I've got a "Face of the Day" Picture and what my trip into town brought me :)

So first of, I'll go with the FOTD. Sorry for the awful picture, I was in a bit of a rush and it's the best I could do. I really don't like this picture -.-

What I used:
Face
Body Shop Tinted Moisturiser (Vitamin E)
Collection 2000 16 hour ultimate wear concealer - in shade 2 Light
Bronzer from BHS I think
Eyes
Max Factor lash extension effect mascara
Rimmel Kohl eyeliner in Jungle Green
Lips
MUA lipstick - shade 4
Rimmel Lipliner (Don't know exact name, can't find it..)
Rimmel Lipstick Lock

Moving on... I got my Magazine freebies!

Yay, how cool :) I went to WHsmith and they only had 2 issues of Glamour left, and the free gift was either the concealer or eye brighten and I already said that i didn't want the concealer so I picked up the eye bright one and carried on my search for the Bad Gal eyeliner and More Magazine. WHsmith was a shambles and everything was a mess.

So next I went to a little Newsagents and they had 2 issues of glamour left with the bad gal eyeliner so I picked those up! The woman looked confused and was like "are you sure you want two of these?" and I was like "yes!" haha. And they had one copy of more magazine left. Next I went to Tesco's who were doing a 3 for 2 offer on some mags, More, Grazia and something else I can't remember, so I ended up picking 3 copies of More magazine.

Right so, I sat down on a bench on the high street so I could tear my coupons out but i accidently binned the coupon and not the rest of the page! I almost died... I waited until nobody was around and reached my hand into the bin to retrieve it. *Cringe* But it had to be done! So anyways, I went to the superdrug on the highstreet and claimed my purchase, the women in there were really moody -.- and then I was going to go to the bigger one with more choice so I picked up three there. When I went to pay, the moody woman said "no, you can't use three, it says one per customer" so I had to leave two and she didn't even give me a choice of which one I wanted to keep! I guess I will have to go to a superdrug 3 times before the end of 15th June or get my friend to come with me and say it's for her. grr.

Anyways, here is a close up of the barry M dazzle dusts that I did manage to pick up

The shades I got were 14 - Kharki and 22 - Electric Blue
So these two add to my collection of 10 Barry M dazzle Dusts/Fine glitter Dusts:
4 - Silver (Fine Glitter Dust)
20 - Denim (Fine Glitter Dust)
23 - Purple Black (Fine Glitter Dust)
44 - Copper
53 - Chocolate
76 - Yellow
84 - Cherry Red
94 - Teal

Lastly, Exam! Ahhh!
I've got a business studies exam tomorrow. Business Studies: Marketing. I'm really scared because these are the final exams before uni, and there is no chance to retake unless I have to resit the whole year again with the year 12s. *cough* No thanks!

Hope you're all having a good week,
Love,
Emz ♥

Clothes Haul - Zara, New Look & More...

Welcome to My First Clothes Haul ♥

I'm extremely excited to show you what I bought because I enjoy watching other people do it so much! I just have to give it a go. I went shopping on Sunday and Monday. So, first I want to show you what I bought on Sunday.

~ Sunday ~

Shop: Zara
Price: £49.99
I really love this jacket. I was a bit scared at first because it's quite expensive and I'm a student so of course that means I have no money! How familiar... anyways my mum convinced me to buy it because she said it would go with lots of things...

Here is some close ups of the jacket. I don't think the first picture does it justice. It's so beautiful and just looks so well made. And I love how the buttons have coat of arms on them.

Shop: TK Maxx
Price: £34.99 Reduced from £70.00
I had been looking for a pair of heels that would go with my skinny jeans because of course, everyone knows that heels make your legs look sexier ;) I needed quite a low pair because I'm already 5ft 8 so yeah. I really love these, I think the Tan coloured stuff is really in right now, and can really complete an outfit.

Okay that's all for Sunday's shopping so next it's Monday!

~ Monday ~

Shop: New Look
Price: £9 Reduced from £16
I love this! Again it's got the gold buttons, I just can't seem to help myself with the whole nautical thing lately! I love the badge detailing on the second picture, and there is actually a little gold chain which dangles down but it's all squished in the picture. It's also a pin so you can take it off, I could put it on my jacket but it might just make it look cheap :/ Not sure. What do you think?

Shop: New Look
Price: £7 Reduced from £16
I'm really pleased I waited to get this, I saw this full priced a few weeks ago but couldn't justify spending £16 on it. So low and behold, I come back and it's in the sales! The picture doesn't really show the right colour, it's a deep green kharki colour. And the buttons aren't that shiny, it's just the camera flash. I think these would go lovely with my tan boots. So yeah, go to New Look this week, they have a MASSIVE sale on!

Shop: New Look
Price: £6 Reduced from £18
I thought this was gorgeous :) it's actually a cream colour although it looks quite white in the picture. The design looks very military but then i realised it had little anchors on the buttons. But it's lovely anyways. And it's crop rather than full size. And I adore the unusual (hook and eye?!) fastening too.

Shop: Primark
Price: £9
The skirt is actually black but the flash washed it out. I don't actually own a skirt (until now) because I've just not really liked any of them. But i thought I would give this one a try and it looks really nice on. So yeah, Another thing to go with the sailor/nautical theme with the rope and gold detailing methinks. I wonder if I will be onto floral designs next week :P

Shop: Primark
Price: White - £1, Red/Navy £1 Reduced from £2
Finally I got three fairly standard belts. I just got a skinny white one and the red and navy ones were reduced so i thought, for a pound, you just can't go wrong. When they scanned in the till, it came up as £2 so I asked if they should have been a pound. The woman was really grumpy and called her manager who said yeah, they were supposed to be a pound.

Do you think I should have fussed about an extra pound? Or was I right to query it? :P

So that's me done, I hope you like my purchases :) Let me know if you have any questions.
Hope you're having a good week everyone x
Love,
Emz ♥
